From T-Shirt Boy to Building Brands - My Story
I was just 16 when I first stepped out with a bag of T-shirts. A small-town boy from Malappuram, no big background, no big support, just a thought in my heart:
“I need to try… I need to do something on my own.”
The early days were not easy. Some days I walked for hours, running on stairs, knocked on shop doors, and still came home without a single sale and without no money. It was painful, but those struggles really shaped me. Slowly, I started to notice something, reason for people were not buying the T-shirts, they were buying me. The way I talked, the way I understood them, the way I connected. That’s when I really understand sales is not about selling, it’s about people.
Bit by bit, the journey grew. From one bag of T-shirts, I reached 70+ panchayaths and 200+ shops across Malappuram. The money mattered, yes, but what mattered more was the lesson I carried: sales and marketing only work when they are human-centric.
That same belief carried me forward when I co-founded Airova. I saw something everyone was ignoring but everyone needed, public hygiene. It wasn’t about starting another business or startup, it was about solving a real human problem that touched daily life (some think its a small problem but for me its a basic need). Because for me, hygiene is not just about toilets or washrooms, it’s about dignity, safety, and health ( its very important).
Now, when I look ahead,
my vision is clear:
By 2030, public hygiene must be accessible to every people.
And for every dreamer, every business builder, I want to make sales and marketing simple, human, and practical.
Looking back, I see how both journeys are connected. My T-shirt days gave me the courage to face people. Airova gave me the mission to solve for people.
Both shaped me into who I am today, HK, a boy who started small, but dreams big for people.
